Maple Lute Ribs (GF57)
Maple is not only a beautiful wood for luthiers to use in building acoustic guitars, ukuleles, and lutes it has a tone that enhances most any top it is matched with. Maple can also be used as the soundboard in a matched ukulele top, back, and sides set. We recover our Maple on the Southern Oregon Coast where the variety of soil types can add color to your guitar, ukulele or lute. The wood has unmatched qualities, easy workability, and sustained tap tones. It will make high quality acoustic instruments. We personally recover most of our trees from logging site where the trees were being sent to chip mills. The areas that the trees are removed from are replanted with new trees making this a very eco-friendly and sustainable wood. The cool wet air of the Oregon Coast makes the perfect environment for slow consistent growth of acoustic instrument quality wood. We air dry our Maple.
There are 22 matched rib pieces 0.12 x 2.00 x 32 3/4".
Our photos are taken two ways. The center to show what the finished instrument will look like and the outside dry to show what the wood will look like when it arrives.
