Alaskan Yellow Cedar is very similar to Port Orford Cedar. It is a little sweeter than POC and almost as loud as spruce. A great choose when you when to add some brightness to a dark sounding back and side. Our Alaskan Yellow Ceder is recovered from the salvage of old growth trees with growth ring counts from 35 to 50 rings per inch. The wood has unmatched qualities, easy workability, and sustained tap tones. It will make high quality acoustic instrument. The areas that the trees are removed from are replanted with new trees making this a very eco-friendly and sustainable guitar wood.
