Western Red Cedar Acoustic Guitar Soundboard, Standard Size, Rich and Clear Tones, Old Growth and Eco-friendly (KT21)
Western Red Cedar is a beautiful wood for luthiers to use in building sound boards for acoustic guitars and ukuleles. The sound is dark and resonant. It has long sustain, rich overtones and clear bass. Not as loud as Port Orford Cedar but still has a strong presence. It also can mellow a brighter back and sides set, like Maple or Pistachio. The dark red/brown color looks great under finish. Our Western Red Ceder is recovered from the salvage of old growth trees with growth ring counts from 35 to 50 rings per inch.
There is a book matched set 0.18 x 8 x 23 3/4".
Photos are taken two ways. The first to show what the finished instrument will look like and the second photo is dry to show what the wood will look like when it arrives.
